THE GREAT THEATER OF RABAT

In the heart of the Bouregreg Valley, the Grand Théâtre de Rabat is the symbol of the cultural renewal of the Moroccan capital. The latest project designed by the famous Iraqi-British architect, Zaha Hadid, a leading figure in contemporary urbanism, the design of this building draws its energy from the Bouregreg river generating the landscape of the park that surrounds the amphitheater and the theater.

The project includes a 1,800-seat theater, an open-air amphitheater with a capacity of 7,000 people, a second performance/rehearsal space and a magnificent restaurant that can accommodate 350 people. The main auditorium has a different crystalline geometry inspired by traditional Moroccan muqarnas.

In order to meet architectural constraints and technical requirements, CIMAT has developed special cement with strength class 55, based on fly ash and low heat of hydration (WH to HWH).
