M'DEZ DAM

Located on the Sebou wadi, 58 km southeast of the city of Sefrou, this dam will provide drinking water to the population of the province, irrigation of agricultural areas and protection against flooding of areas located downstream, with a possibility of producing hydroelectric power.

It will also allow the recharging of the water table and the irrigation of the agricultural lands of the Saïss (125 million m3).

This dam is 109 m high on the foundation, with a crest length of 320 m, and a volume of 2.5 Mm3 of fill, will be built on an area of 27.5 ha.

The construction of this dam, which cost 1.41 billion MAD, will have a storage capacity of 700 million m3.

CIMAT cement was mainly used for the injection works of the dam.
